Julie Cooper was raised in a small town east of Portland near the Clackamas River and Mt. Hood National Forest. Growing up as a child, she would frequent trips to Mt. Hood with her parents. This is where her father taught her how to read tree growth rings, skip rocks on the river, find wild blueberries, and listen to the silence of the forest.
Today, you can find Julie at her studio in Portland creating jewelry in sterling, brass, copper, and bronze. Her work also includes mixed metals, it's the contrast that catches her eye.
